music describes what words can't...

u can spend minutes,
hours, days, weeks, or
even months over-analyzing
a situation; trying to put the
pieces together, justifying
what could've, would've
happened... or u can leave
the pieces on the floor &
MOVE THE FUCK ON

no pain, no gain!

be HAPPY!
dear friends,

i am so thankful that i have such beautiful people in my life. i don't know where i would be without my beautiful family and friends. i consider all of u my family, i would do anything for any of u and i love u more than words can describe. i am truly blessed to have such beautiful people in my life.

love always,
cass

THE HANGOUT~
the hangout was like no other festival i went to this summer. it was one of a kind, which made it ahhmazing. first of all, it was in may. second of all, it was on the beach. third of all, i went with my girl, lindsay augustino, and we went a day early to hang out on the beach. fourth of all, it was not extremely hot and miserable outside. and lastly, i got to hang out with gini, and that was the only time like this whole summer i hung out with her... anyways!

FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:
it was on the beach & it wasn't unbearably hot; also i met tammie & joe and they let me and gini stay at their condo :] they are amazing people & i now LOOOOOOVE THEM!!!!

FAVORITE BAND/FAVORITE SHOW:
i obviously don't have ONE favorite show... that would be impossible. but, if i had to pick my favorites, they would be widespread  panic, foo fighters (even though i don't really care for them, gini lindsay and i had an awesome time at that show. so much fun), slightly stoopid & the DBT.

TRAVELING:
on the way there... i wanna say i slept most of the time, but the way back was a different story.. Lindsay and I drank sparks the whole way back and we had sooo much fun :] this started a bad habit though... i drank sparks every festival i left this summer.
WILL I GO BACK:
hellllll moother fuckinnnng yessss. it was a festival i want to go to for a long, long time. it wasn't camping so it was more "adult" than others.. a lot more older people and families. but SO AMAZING!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
WAKARUSA~
last year, wakarusa was my favorite music festival (because i hung out with really good people). this year, however.. i hung out with amazing people. my best friend, elena, didn't have her boo boo there so i got to spend the whole time with her :] it was a really good time and i am sooo happy i ended up going (more on that on the traveling section)...
FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:
that it is up in the mountains, the staff is amazing and really nice, and the falafel guys were there :]
FAVORITE BAND/FAVORITE SHOW:
i had so much fun at THE NEW DEAL>>i missed them at camp bisco and i was really sad about that, considering it's their last summer touring together, but they rocked it so hard at waka. i am soooooo thankful i didn't go to bassnectar and i went to the new deal instead. i also had an amazing time at ZOOGMA (of course)..both shows! the last night, EOTO was really fun (i went by myself because when we were leaving two fresh, the 2 people i was with decided they "didn't wanna go" but ended up being there the whole time, which i found out after) but noooo big deal, because i can swing it by myself :] TWO FRESH was really fun..
TRAVELING:
the day we were supposed to leave, i babysat for two different families. the first, the dad had a 24 hour stomach virus... and i catch that really easily... so i believe i caught it there and on my second gig, i progressively started to feel very, very nauseous. when i got home, where everyone was waiting for me... i threw up and decided i could definitely not make the trip that night. i waited til the next morning and got enough strength to take a shower and get in the car. i took some medication and punkin drove the whole way to arkansas and i slept the whoooole way. i would wake up when we stopped for a half a second until we got really close and i drove us the way in. on the way back, i drove the whole way, along with some good tunes and sparks, it was a pretty quick trip home.

WILL I GO BACK:
HELLLLL YESSSS!!!!!!! but i forgot to mention...wakarusa was SOOOOOOOOOOOO hot. i think it was the hottest festival i went to, yes hotter than bonnaroo!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

BONNAROO~
this year, bonnaroo was different than the past 2 times i've gone. i still worked at WONDER WAFFLE & had a blast while doing so, i loved working for wonder waffle since it started at roo and watching it's fanbase grow and the numbers climb every year. but, this year i was single, working for my exboyfriend. but, nothing was too difficult and i had a lot of fun hanging out with friends i hadn't hung out with that much this summer. it was pretty freaking hot, but not as hot as waka.
FAVORITE PART OF THE FESTIVAL:
working at wonder waffle, hanging out with elena, PEOPLE WATCHING, and beautiful people.
FAVORITE BAND/FAVORITE SHOW:
this is a REALLY tough question... considering BOTH of my ALL TIME FAVORITE artists were there. and they are totally and completely different in every way possible, besides the fact that they are both my favorite. WSP vs. EMINEM (with a side of the black keys...) Eminem was saturday night and i saw it with daniel & james mckenzie. eminem took it to another level. it was the most intense, deep show i have probably ever seen. he took u through his "RECOVERY" and also had a lot of throwbacks>>slim shady>> it was seriously so deep and beautiful. i had more fun at that show than anywhere else.. i could probably say it was one of the best shows this summer. i mean, how many times can u see eminem in a setting like that... but, to close out the festival, my favorite band, widespread panic killed it. i went & picked up lena from across the street from the festival and she got to come! everyone was there.. it was an amazing feeling to be with the people you love, seeing the band you love, at the end of a festival..sunrise... just everything was perfect. and of course, i saw them with my punkin. i always have to see wsp with punkin!!!*
TRAVELING:
ohh pshhh. i drove there in an hour with derek and mike. and we drove in the wrong way because we were like ...fuck that traffic... and drove through the festival and under the arch HAAAAHAHAHA it was so fun.
WILL I GO BACK:
i hope so....
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

DEXFEST~
this year, dexfest was sooooo much fun! i was a bartender and i got to be a part of what was going on. it was pretty hot during the day.. but our tent was under trees so i slept in for a while without it getting too hot. it rained a lot... i broke my phone. not really too sure how.. i just woke up and it wouldn't turn on. i went with brian sullivan and we had a blast and spent a lot of money on four lokkos and sparks before we left from the boro! :] on the way back, we stopped and brian had his first EVER bass pro experience, we drove through pigeon forge and i decided to get the tattoo i have been wanting for a while now... we went to gatlinburg and rode up the sky lift. i had four lokko in my camelback..yum
FAVORITE PART OF THE FESTIVAL:
meeting new people! i hung out with a lot of new friends and it was amazing. i love meeting new people who are amazing and sweet and REAL! i was also a bartender.. THAT was really fun!
FAVORITE BAND/FAVORITE SHOW:
zoogma was soooooo fun. two fresh was reaaaally funnnn>i had a lot of fun with my new friends on stage :] raging. big gigantic at the end was sooooooo fun. CHERUB killed it! under the hard tent thing. i always, always love them & they always, always rock it :]
TRAVELING:
drove up there with my boy, brian sullivan. we left at like 1 am so i tried fighting sleep the whole way, but i just couldn't do it... on the way back, we had some four lokkos and sparks and i just got my tat... and it was a really good trip!!
WOULD I GO BACK:
yes.

LAST, BUT BY FAR, MOST CERTAINLY NOT LEAST......
CAMP BISCO!!!!!!~
camp bisco was by far, my favorite this summer. words cannot even describe how much FUN i had... i hung out with punkin & mark gee for the most part and i saw some really fucking good live music and had a great fucking time. words cannot even explain....
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE FESTIVAL:
if i was to really say what my favorite part of the festival, it might stir up some certain somethings so i'd rather just tell you my second favorite part ;] :::the music & the people. it was weird being in the north, i never really travel outside of where i know, but this was exceptionally okay. i rolled around with punkin and saw some seriously amazing music
FAVORITE BAND/FAVORITE SHOW:
ohhh....shit..... well, i saw bassnectar for the first time this summer at bisco and that was REALLY fun. i forgot how bassnectar throws down... disco biscuits, of course, were always super fun. one of the best parts of those shows was the huge mud puddles and betting on how many people would fall in them. shpongle live band was really fun... i didn't even realize it was raining until it was over... two fresh was amazing and i had a really good time with friends at that show. zoogma killed it... BUT ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE SHOWS HAD TO BE SCHKOMPTA/CHERUB because i got to be on stage, dancing, with my favorite, jason huber!!! and it was my first silent disco experience. upon arriving, i was with ryan nall and it was SOOO funny... we didn't have headphones so it was like everyone was dancing but we didn't hear any music.. and u could tell what channel people were listening to, not by the green or blue light, but HOW they were dancing. HILARIOUS!!! i missed the new deal... i was really upset about that... but life goes on! RJD2 was sick!!!!
TRAVELING:
um.... i slept 13 out of 17 hours on the way there (with elena, alex and sully) and on the way back, mark gee, punkin and i stayed in this reaaally nice (hahahaha) hotel motel holiday [inn] motel called The Holiday. and luckily for me, i don't know how to drive a stick so i got opted out of driving the way back :]
WILL I GO BACK:
OF COURSE, YES, HELL YESSSS!!!
this is not the end of "my summer adventure" blog... it's just time to start the day & go to the pool :] i'm finished with my  explinations of my festivals & my homemade chai tea latte from trader joes, so i think that's my cue to take a break and get some sun. but keep an update and hopefully get *inspired* to do something creative today. it helps your soul and heals your heart.
i'm so happy today! :::the sun is shining, i just wrote a lot which helps clear your head, and SOMEBODY flies home today ;] hehe.

festival feather fairy

FEATHER.FEATHERS.FEATHERS!!!

so... as many of you know, since February, I have been "doing" feather extensions. it all started when my friend came back from Colorado with some in her hair, I looked into it and the only place in Nashville that did them at the time was Lucy Pop Salon. They were doing (and still are) 3 feathers for $35>outrageous. so i looked more into it and decided i could do it myself. i bought a pack of 20 feathers and when i got them in the mail and put them in, suddenly everyone wanted feather extensions too (thank you stephen tyler moore.. i guess..) so i bought the same pack of 20 feathers from the same girl on Etsy, but one week later, the price was raised $20. so i googled that shit and apparently there are not enough roosters to produce that many feathers, since salons were buying bulk wholesale individual feathers, which took away from the fly fishermen. so, i found various ways to buy grizzly (the white and black striped) rooster saddles, pluck the feathers off myself, and dye them. so far, i have bought 3 saddles, along with many packs of other feathers, and 6 colors of acid dye. (each saddle has about 100-150 feathers that are long enough for feather extensions, and the rest are used for jewelry, etc.)

most people don't even know what they are, they just want them because everyone else has them, which is fine... so i thought i'd help those of you out which some info that i found out several months ago....

WHAT ARE FEATHER EXTENSIONS?!!

the world of fashion has collided with the world of fly tying.  and the results are making a mess of the fly fishermen's thinking about feathers, especially long feathers, saddle hackles, natural and dyed grizzly. fly fishermen use these type of rooster feathers to tie fly ties for fly fishing. they use the rooster feathers because they are very strong, and won't rip. so, yes. you have animal feathers in your hair!

HOW DO YOU GET THEM IN?!!
you tell me the area, and i'll do the rest. but just for your information- i take a tiny piece of hair, thread it through an extension bead, stick the feathers in the bead, and clamp it shut. and done. takes about 4 minutes.

HOW LONG DO THEY STAY IN?!!
if you're like me, your hair grows super slow.. so you won't have to get them (or do it yourself) adjusted as often. the actual feathers can last a really, really long time. from experience, I'm up to 6 months. but, if your hair grows fast, you can come back and i'll slip a new bead in, if needed, or just loosen it up, pull it up, and tighten it back.

HOW MUCH ARE THEY?!!

they are $5 per feather OR $20 for 5 feathers (i cut you a little break because feathers are awesome).

so if anyone would like some, let me know! it's a very quick process. from what i have noticed, the only part that takes a long time is picking out which size, color and shape you want :]

I've been slanging these at festivals and girls flock to me and fight each other over who's next. ha, cracks me up! but seriously.. if anyone wants some, let me know!

tell your friends and tell their friends to tell their friends that i have the cheapest, most unique feathers in Nashville, all created and dyed with love by yours truly.
