FEATHER.FEATHERS.FEATHERS!!!

so... as many of you know, since February, I have been "doing" feather extensions. it all started when my friend came back from Colorado with some in her hair, I looked into it and the only place in Nashville that did them at the time was Lucy Pop Salon. They were doing (and still are) 3 feathers for $35>outrageous. so i looked more into it and decided i could do it myself. i bought a pack of 20 feathers and when i got them in the mail and put them in, suddenly everyone wanted feather extensions too (thank you stephen tyler moore.. i guess..) so i bought the same pack of 20 feathers from the same girl on Etsy, but one week later, the price was raised $20. so i googled that shit and apparently there are not enough roosters to produce that many feathers, since salons were buying bulk wholesale individual feathers, which took away from the fly fishermen. so, i found various ways to buy grizzly (the white and black striped) rooster saddles, pluck the feathers off myself, and dye them. so far, i have bought 3 saddles, along with many packs of other feathers, and 6 colors of acid dye. (each saddle has about 100-150 feathers that are long enough for feather extensions, and the rest are used for jewelry, etc.)
most people don't even know what they are, they just want them because everyone else has them, which is fine... so i thought i'd help those of you out which some info that i found out several months ago....
WHAT ARE FEATHER EXTENSIONS?!!
the world of fashion has collided with the world of fly tying. and the results are making a mess of the fly fishermen's thinking about feathers, especially long feathers, saddle hackles, natural and dyed grizzly. fly fishermen use these type of rooster feathers to tie fly ties for fly fishing. they use the rooster feathers because they are very strong, and won't rip. so, yes. you have animal feathers in your hair!
HOW DO YOU GET THEM IN?!!
you tell me the area, and i'll do the rest. but just for your information- i take a tiny piece of hair, thread it through an extension bead, stick the feathers in the bead, and clamp it shut. and done. takes about 4 minutes.
HOW LONG DO THEY STAY IN?!!
if you're like me, your hair grows super slow.. so you won't have to get them (or do it yourself) adjusted as often. the actual feathers can last a really, really long time. from experience, I'm up to 6 months. but, if your hair grows fast, you can come back and i'll slip a new bead in, if needed, or just loosen it up, pull it up, and tighten it back.
HOW MUCH ARE THEY?!!
they are $5 per feather OR $20 for 5 feathers (i cut you a little break because feathers are awesome).
so if anyone would like some, let me know! it's a very quick process. from what i have noticed, the only part that takes a long time is picking out which size, color and shape you want :]
I've been slanging these at festivals and girls flock to me and fight each other over who's next. ha, cracks me up! but seriously.. if anyone wants some, let me know!
tell your friends and tell their friends to tell their friends that i have the cheapest, most unique feathers in Nashville, all created and dyed with love by yours truly.
